Rep. Day Honored for His Support of Deployed Military

Jefferson City – State Representative David Day (R-Dixon) was paid a surprise visit at his capitol office on Thursday, May 28, 2009.  The purpose of the visit was to say “Thank You” to Rep. Day for his support of the men and women of the Multi-National Task Force East while they were deployed from July 2008 until March 2009.

Brigadier General Larry Kay, Commander, Kosovo Forces 10 - Multi-National Task Force East visited Rep. Day at the capitol to make a presentation of a plaque and flag that was flown for him.  “I wanted to take the time to honor Representative Day for his personal support of Missouri’s Troops and Veterans,” said General Kay.

“I am humbled, both by the gift I have been given, but more so because of who gave it to me.  There is no group of people I have more respect for the men and women who serve our nation and protect our freedoms” said Day.  “These men and women are some of the best our nation has to offer, and to be recognized by them is a tremendous honor.”

“It was a privilege to meet with Representative Day and present a Missouri Flag flown in his honor during our time in Kosovo as well as a plaque with the colors and coins of the deployment.  We look forward to partnering with him on veterans issues in the future” concluded Kay.

BG Larry Kay also serves as Director of the Missouri Veterans Commission and Rep. Day is the Chairman of the House of Representative’s Veterans Committee.
