Day Announces Plans to Run for Re-Election in 2010
October 5, 2009

Dixon, MO – State Representative David Day (R-Dixon) announced today his intention to run for re-election for 148th District State Representative in the 2010 elections. “This will be my last run for the Missouri House of Representatives. If re-elected in 2010 I would be serving my 4th term as a State Representative, the amount allowed under the term limit laws of Missouri,” said Day.
Representative Day currently serves as Chairman of the House of Representatives Veterans Committee, Vice-Chairman of the State Parks & Waterways Committee, and is a member of what are considered two of the most powerful committees in Jefferson City, the Committee on General Laws and the Committee on Professional Registration and Licensing. Day is also a member of the Joint Committee on Terrorism, Bioterrorism, and Homeland Security.
“After many discussions with my family and making this decision as a family, I wanted to announce my intentions to seek re-election. I feel that the citizens of the 148th District deserve to know what my intentions are and it will also help address some of the rumors that are starting to surface, as they do with any campaign,” continued Day. “This will be my last campaign for State Representative, and while I don’t know what the future holds for me politically, I do know I have the best job in the world, representing the people of the 148th District, a job I hope people will allow me to continue for two more years.”
Day has worked as both a sponsor and co-sponsor on numerous pieces of legislation since first being elected. The list includes legislation to protect 2nd Amendment Rights, Pro-Life legislation, tax cuts for retirees, legislation to help MO veterans, funding for rural schools, legislation to aid law enforcement, funding for the Waynesville Career Center, legislation to cut waste and fraud from state government, just to name a few.
“I am so grateful for the support so many have given me over the years. There is no way that I can ever say thank you appropriately to them; they mean the world to me. I look forward to this last campaign for State Representative and continuing the work of taking a conservative voice from Pulaski County to our state’s capitol,” concluded Day.
Day will officially kick off his re-election bid with an event on December 4th, 2009, at the Hampton Inn, St. Robert. Details will be available soon for the event at www.StateRepDay.com.
