Rep. Day Honors Crocker Students

With Glory of Missouri Awards

Jefferson CityFourteen students from the Crocker 7th and 8th Grade Classes were on hand at the State Capitol on Monday, April 19th to be honored for their exceptional qualities displayed both in school and in their communities. The students were presented with the Glory of Missouri Awards by Rep. David Day, R-Dixon, in the Thomas Hart Benton Room, also known as the Old House Lounge.

The Glory of Missouri Award Program is designed to recognize fourteen students per school. Each student honored represents one of the virtues engraved on the walls of the House Chamber. The virtues include knowledge, liberty, equity, law, justice, fraternity, education, progress, honor, truth, virtue, temperance, enterprise and charity.  The selection process is left up to the individual school.

“The outstanding students we have in our area should not go overlooked or unrecognized,” said Rep. Day. “So many young people are making valuable contributions to their schools and communities and they deserve our respect and admiration. It is an honor to present these awards to them.  The Glory Awards allow us the opportunity to express our gratitude to these outstanding students.”

Students are nominated for the honor by faculty and staff at their school. Each student was presented with a House Courtesy Resolution which is a formal document designed to recognize an outstanding person or achievement.  This award program is available by Rep. Day to all schools in the 148th District.
