Rep. Day Files for Reelection

as State Representative

Jefferson City – State Representative David Day (R-Dixon) has filed for reelection as State Representative of the 148th District of Missouri for the last time.  On the first day of filing, February 23rd, Representative Day joined hundreds of other candidates from across the state in Jefferson City to file for office in the upcoming election.

“The last six years have been the greatest honor I have known.  Representing the people of the 148th District is something that I take both as a very serious job but at the same time have also been very humbled to do” said Day.  “I look forward to continue fighting for rural Missouri values in the state legislature”.

Day was first sworn into office in January of 2005.  Because of term limits in Missouri, this is the last time that Rep. Day will be qualified to run for the office of State Representative.  Current law allows up to 8 years in the House of Representatives and up to 8 years in the Missouri Senate.  The only other position that has term limits in Missouri state government is the office of Governor which is limited to two terms, or 8 years.  If reelected, Rep. Day will be the 5th most senior member in the Missouri House of Representatives.

“While we are in session right now and most of my time is spent in Jefferson City, I look forward to getting back home and having the chance to visit with the people of the 148th District, something I always look forward to.  The people of Pulaski County have been so wonderful to my family and I, it truly is an honor to work for them in our state’s capitol” concluded Day.
