2^nd Amendment – As a proud NRA member and life-long supporter

of the 2^nd Amendment, I understand the fundamental right of law abiding

citizens to own and bear arms.  During my time in the legislature I have

worked hard to advance pro 2^nd Amendment legislation and have

received an A rating from the National Rifle Association.

Pro-Life – As the father of a beautiful daughter, I am reminded everyday of the importance of the sanctity of life.  As an elected official and a Christian, I believe one of my duties is to protect the most vulnerable

among us, the unborn.

A Strong Economy – As a farmer, I know first-hand how important a growing and thriving economy is.  While it is not the role of government to employ all citizens, it is the job of government to foster and promote an environment that encourages economic growth and job creation in the private sector.  My goal is for every Missourian to be able to work and support their families.  In most cases government just needs to get out of the way and let the entrepreneurial spirit of Missourians flourish.

Education for our Children – I feel that one of the most important things we as citizens can do is provide an education that will give our children a great start on life.  I have consistently voted to increase state funding for our public schools by over a billion dollars and have worked to ensure that every child has the best possible education as they prepare for adulthood.

Our Heroes – As the third generation in my family that has served in uniform, I have a deep love and respect for those that protect our freedoms.  I am honored to have received the Legislator of the Year Awards for both the VFW and the American Legion.  I will continue to fight for our nations’ heroes; they deserve the best we have to offer.

Family Values – I would bet that most of us share the same family values.  The most important things in my life are my wife Leasa and daughter, Savanna.  I have worked to pass legislation to protect our families like Jessica’s Law.  I have also worked to help pass legislation that aids in the war on drugs, protects our seniors from fraud, and our children from internet crimes.
